TRINITY CHILDREN'S MINISTRY

It is our mission to support parents and caregivers in developing the foundation of faith in our children, share God's love, be examples of God's love, and strengthen our children's relationship with Jesus.

Every Sunday throughout the school year, kids PreK - 5th grade are offered the opportunity to learn about God's story in their very own worship and Bible study time.

Students in PreK - 5th grade will begin in worship with you and following a children's blessing, be dismissed to their worship and bible study; they will remain in their designated classrooms until a parent or guardian picks them up after the service.

If you are a first time visitor, stop by the Welcome Desk and we would be happy to give you more information.

We look forward to partnering with you to grow our kids for Christ!

growing in faith

Each week across all grade levels, our kids focus on these four areas:

Connection with each other and with God's word

Studying God's word together

Interacting with God's Word to find key themes and takeaways

Responding to God's Word by applying it to life

  • In addition to our weekly lessons in our Sunday school classes, we want to help you grow your child’s faith by incorporating and celebrating some important faith steps. These steps will be a part of the foundation that grows with your children as they continue to mature in their faith.
    • infants/Toddler

A baby is a precious gift from God and we want to celebrate with you! A small gift and blessing from the church, along with information on baptism will be given to our new parents.

After your child is baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church we will continue to celebrate their growth and spiritual milestones with you through our “Enduring Faith Beginnings” program. We recognize how precious these first years are and we want to help you share the love of Jesus with your child from birth through the first three years of their life.

    • Preschool

Children who are 3 years old by September 1st of the school year are welcomed into our “Trinity Kids” Sunday school program. They will have the opportunity to learn about God’s story in their very own worship and Bible time.

    • Kindergarten

Children will be gifted a Beginners Bible to begin their faith development and introduce them to the Bible basics. They are reminded that the Holy Bible is the100% pure and true word of our awesome God!

John 3:16 is widely known as one of the most famous Bible verses. Children will learn and memorize this important Bible verse

that tells us of the perfect love God has for us and the gift that was given to us by Jesus Christ.

    • first grade

When the disciples asked Jesus how to pray, Jesus gave them the Lord’s Prayer. This prayer is a blueprint for how to talk to God and how to teach our children to talk to God. They will learn the Lord’s Prayer and then be able to recite it along with the congregation before communion every Sunday.

    • second grade

Learning the Ten Commandments will show your child how God wants them, and everyone, to live their lives. The Ten Commandments are a guide on how to treat God and how to treat other people. It is important that our children understand the rules God has for us, but also that He does not expect us to be perfect. In fact, the only person to ever follow the Ten Commandments perfectly was Jesus, and because of Him we have been forgiven of our sins…past, present and future.

    • third grade

Third graders are gifted an Adventure Bible to continue their faith development as we encourage them to be readers of God’s word!

God says the Bible is like a sword. Just like a sword takes practice to use, we need to practice using God’s Word. One of the ways your child can do that is by knowing what God has included in the Bible and where they can find it. Your child will begin their Bible journey with learning the books of the New Testament.

    • fifth grade

Fifth graders are invited to attend out First Communion workshop followed by receiving their first communion at a Seder Meal.

As Lutherans one of the ways we profess our faith is through the Apostles Creed. Your child will learn the Apostle’s Creed and understand that through this statement they are communicating their beliefs about God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.
