Overview

The youth ministry program here at Trinity is designed to help youth focus on the purpose which Jesus Christ has for each of their lives. There are many distractions and challenges the youth of our society face everyday. The youth ministry here meets youth where they are. In a world filled with materialism and selfishness, and a world which tempts youth with cheap substitutes for Christ, the youth ministry here emphasizes a life selflessness. We show the love of Christ in every area of our ministries allowing youth to experience the love of Christ and the acceptance into His family.

We teach youth the basics of Christianity, and give them the tools to dig deeper and grow closer to our creator.

We instill a sense of commitment and dedication to God’s will in each student’s life. We give youth opportunities to serve and to be dmpowered by God so that when they are presented the oppportunity to share the love of Christ, they are ready!

Youth Ministry Vision

Create a community of believers so passionate about Jesus Christ and what He has done for them that it excretes out of every pore of their being, resulting in the desire for total submission and commitment to the will of Christ in every part of their lives through the Grace of Jesus Christ.

Middle School Ministries

The Middle School ministries are designed for students between 6th and 8th grades. The middle school ministries will use a variety of methods to teach youth to love Christ with all their heat and then empower them to show the love of Christ with everyone the cross pths with. The middle school ministries will utilize large group youth worship as well as small group ministries. In small groups youth have opportunities to build strong Christian sfrinedships with other students. Youth become a part of a community which will love them, encourage them in their faith and empower them for ministry in the areas they are gifted in and are passionate about. There are also opportunities for fun and fellowship through outreach events, retreats, lock-ins, ski and snowboard trips and mission trips.

High School Ministries

The High School ministries are designed for students in grades 9th through 12th. The high school ministries focus on a variety of issues, helping youth to further deepen their personal walks with Christ. The high school ministries also empower youth to fulfill Christ’s purpose and will in each student’s life helping youth to realize what that purpose is and giving them the tools necessary to complete that purpose. The high school ministries utilize opportunities for fun and fellowship through outreach events, retreats, lock-ins, ski and snowboard trips, and mission trips.

Confirmation Ministries

Confirmation is specifically designed for students who are in grades 8th through 10th. There are two years of confirmation instruction in 8th and 9th grade years, and students are then confirmed in the geginning of their 10th grade year.

Confirmation is also designed to teach youth the doctrines of our faith, and then instill a lasting and living faith in students. This lasting faith impacts students for the rest of their lives. Students are not just taught the doctrines of our faith, but also equipped to share them with whoever God brings into their circles of influence by living out their faith.

What we believe and teach

April 6, 2010 by admin
Filed under I'm New, News, QuickClicks, Synod, Teaching

The following is a brief summary of what we believe and teach at Trinity. For our local understanding of particular issues or questions, please email or talk to one of our pastors.

Overview
With the universal Christian Church and the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, Trinity teaches and responds to the love of the Triune God: the Father, creator of all that exists; Jesus Christ, the Son, who became human to suffer and die for the sins of all human beings and to rise to life again in the ultimate victory over death and Satan; and the Holy Spirit, who creates faith through God’s Word and Sacraments. The three persons of the Trinity are coequal and coeternal, one God.

Being “Lutheran,” our congregations accept and teach Bible-based teachings of Martin Luther that inspired the reformation of the Christian Church in the 16th century. The teaching of Luther and the reformers can be summarized in three short phrases: Grace alone, Faith alone, Scripture alone.

Grace alone
God loves the people of the world, even though they are sinful, rebel against Him and do not deserve His love. He sent Jesus, His Son, to love the unlovable and save the ungodly.

Faith alone
By His suffering and death as the substitute for all people of all time, Jesus purchased and won forgiveness and eternal life for them. Those who hear this Good News and believe it have the eternal life that it offers. God creates faith in Christ and gives people forgiveness through Him.

Scripture alone
The Bible is God’s inerrant and infallible Word, in which He reveals His Law and His Gospel of salvation in Jesus Christ. It is the sole rule and norm for Christian doctrine.

Who is Jesus?
For more than 2,000 years people have asked the question, “Who is Jesus?”. We were not present when Jesus lived on this earth, but in the Bible we have the record of his birth, life, death on the cross, and resurrection.  Study of the Bible, God’s Word, will enable you to seek out the answer to this age-old question.

What does “Synod” mean?
The word “Synod” in The Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod comes from Greek words that mean “walking together.” The term has rich meaning in our church body, because congregations voluntarily choose to belong to the Synod. Though diverse in their service, these congregations hold to a shared confession of Jesus Christ as taught in Holy Scripture and the Lutheran Confessions which they believe are a  correct interpretation and presentation of Biblicaldoctrine. Contained in The Book of Concord: The Confessions of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, these statements of belief were put into writing by church leaders during the 16th century. The simplest of these is Luther’s Small Catechism. The Augsburg Confession gives more detail on what Lutherans believe.  Read an article from the May 2004 Lutheran Witnessabout what a “Synod” is.

Study Resources
The Synod’s Commission on Theology and Church Relations provides study documents and statements of theological issues. Answers to theological questions may be found on the Frequently Asked Questions web site.

The Christian Cyclopedia has served thousands of students, church professionals, and lay persons as a one-volume compendium of historical and theological data, ranging from ancient figures to contemporary events.

In addition, a series of downloadable pamphlets offer insight on a variety of doctrinal topics, moral issues and concerns in the church.

Angel Food Menu and Order Form – and a blessing too

February 27, 2010 by admin
Filed under Featured, Ministries, News, QuickClicks, Serving

Trinity is partnering with Angel Food Ministries to provide quality food at reduced prices to individuals and families needing grocery relief, as well as anyone wishing to participate.

Angel Food Ministries is a non-profit, non-denominational organization dedicated to providing grocery relief and financial support to communities throughout the United States. The program began in 1994 with 34 families in Monroe, Georgia (between Atlanta and Athens), and has grown to serve hundreds of thousands of families every month across 35 states. Angel Food Ministries crosses denominational lines and has spread the good news of the gospel of Christ through salvation tracts that are placed in each food order.

Blessings by the box

Angel Food is available in a quantity that can fit into a medium-sized box at $30 per unit. Each month’s menu is different than the previous month and consists of both fresh and frozen items with an average retail value of approximately $60. Comparison shopping has been done across the country in various communities using a wide range of retail grocery stores and has resulted in the same food items costing from between $42 and $78.

Generally, one unit of food assists in feeding a family of four for about one week or a single senior citizen for almost a month. The food is all the same high quality one could purchase at a grocery store. There are no second-hand items, no damaged or out-dated goods, no dented cans without labels, no day-old breads and no produce that is almost too ripe.

Also offered are specialty boxes such as steaks, chicken and pork. Many participants in this bonus program appreciate the expanded choices. Additionally, there is no limit to the number of units or bonus foods an individual can receive, and there are no applications to complete or qualifications to which participants must adhere. Angel Food Ministries also participates in the U.S. Food Stamp program, using the Off-Line Food Stamp Voucher system.

It’s both a Bargain and a Blessing!
