The Challenge
The Goliath Challenge is an off road 5K race featuring aggressive terrain along with natural and constructed obstacles. The race will take place in a rural setting at the Badlands Snow Park in Hudson, WI. Obstacles representing “Goliath Challenges” include cargo net climbs, hay hurdles and a giant slip-n-slide.
The event is planned for July 28th, 2012 as a morning to early afternoon event with multiple waves of runners based on an anticipated participant total of 1250 runners.
The Goliath Challenge will feature both an adult and children’s race route to truly make this a family friendly event.
Objective
The Goliath Challenge ultimately sets the stage for an opportunity to spread the word of God. The first and foremost objective is to connect people to God in a meaningful way. The underlying theme for the event is facing the “Goliath” challenges that are undoubtedly a part of everyday life.
The second objective of the race is to raise money for a charity that battles the “Goliath” challenge of world hunger. Funds will be raised through participant registration fees, sponsors, and corporate contributions.
The third objective is to have an event that inspires participants to strive for physical fitness.
Goal
The goal is to generate a significant contribution for Feed My Starving Children. Funds will be raised through participant registration fees for both the adult and kid race events along with sponsors and corporate contributions.

The Feasibility Study Report is in! Read it, discuss it!

The Feasibility Study Report is in! The Board of Directors has reviewed it with the consultants and is now asking all Trinity members to prayerfully read it and discuss it too so that we can make some decisions together about moving forward in ministry here.
The Report is available to read and download by clicking here.
There will be a Congregational Assembly on Sunday, April 15, 12:15 pm, at the Downtown campus to discuss the Report and the Board of Directors recommendations for implementing it.
There will also be discussion sessions at each campus on Sunday, April 22, between services.
Finally, there will be a Voters Congregational Assembly on Sunday, April 29, at 12:15, at the Downtown campus to vote on our next steps in moving forward on the Feasibility study.
God has blessed the ministries of Trinity with tremendous growth over the last decade…growth that is now testing the capacity of our buildings…particularly related to our school, the Youth Program, and worship at the Family Center. That is why we are working to assess our long-term needs and our options to meet them.
At the voters meeting in October 2011, the congregation authorized a study to be completed by April that would:
- determine the cost of building addition and improvements needed to effectively grow the current and future ministries of the congregation
- determine the fiscal capacity of Trinity to fund building expansion and improvement at this time
- unify the members of Trinity around the future directions for the multifaceted ministries of God’s family brought together in this congregation
This study will help us to design a long-term plan to address our facility needs, and it will also help us to understand whether this is the time to begin adding on and to what extent.
In mid-January, the Feasibility study team held several forums to inform members of the options that have been developed and to receive input and ideas into the several versions of an expansion/improvement plan.
In late-January and early-February, the consultants who are helping to direct the study interviewed 30-40 couples/individuals, and the rest of the congregation had an opportunity to weigh-in through written and online surveys.
After evaluating the results of the surveys, the congregation now has an opportunity to decide if and how we should move forward on expanding/improving our facilities.
Please take the time to share in this process.
- Read the Feasibility Study Report that can be downloaded below or picked up at either campus office.
- Come to the Report discussion sessions of the voters on April 15 or 22, get information, share your ideas.
- Come to the Voters meeting on Sunday, April 29, and help us pray and decide about our future together.
- And please pray for this whole process that God would lead and guide us to do what he has in mind for us – at the time that he knows is best.
