How do I join?

We try to make joining Trinity as easy as possible while at the same time giving you enough information so that you can be sure that you want to join us.

We ask everyone who joins to attend what we call “Foundations Class.”

This class will give you a chance to meet some new people, as well as some of the leaders at Trinity. It will introduce you to what we believe and teach here. It will help you to know some of the things that we offer here to help people Grow Faith and Share Love. And it will start you on the process of getting involved.

We offer at least three Foundations Classes a year: in September/October, in January, and after Easter in the spring. The one-day class usually meets on a Saturday from 9 am – 4 pm. There is childcare available and snacks and lunch are also provided.

After attending the class, if you still want to join, we will ask you to fill out a Member Covenant that says you will

  • try to be regular in worship attendance;
  • grow in your faith through some kind of Bible study, small group, or personal devotion;
  • share Christ’s love through using your spiritual gifts in some kind of service/ministry;
  • share in supporting the work of Trinity through your offerings; and
  • pray for your brothers and sisters at Trinity and around the world.

If you are a member of another Lutheran church, you can also ask your former church to send a “Letter of Transfer” to Trinity (or we can do that for you). This enables them to know that you have moved and are attending another congregation.

Then, about two weeks after each Foundations Class, we welcome new members in a worship service. We will ask all new members to come forward at whatever service they are attending. We will introduce you and your family, pray for you, and welcome you into membership. There is also usually a potluck or some other kind of celebration with food at noon at one of the campuses where you will be the guest of honor.

To get started on joining Trinity, you can do one of the following:

  • Phone or email one of our pastors and let us know you are interested
  • Fill out the Registration form for the next Foundations Class
  • Check “Interested in joining Trinity” on the “sign-in” sheet at worship
